"SAR and DAR Ceremony for Randolph White Revolutionary soldier"

Descendants, family and friends of Randolph White are invited to a Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution Ceremony for marking his grave in honor of his service during the Revolutionary War. He joined in Virginia sometime before 1779 and served until 1783, leaving the military in Kentucky where he settled, married and started a family. Most of his military service was with Gen. George Rogers Clark during the Illinois and Indiana battles. The SAR and the DAR of both Macon and Huntsville will participate in the ceremony.

The ceremony will be on Saturday, 11:30 AM, August 14,  2010, at the old David Austin cemetery, located on the Mike and Lori Wilhite farm, 5256 Highway C, two miles north of Huntsville. Don's Buffet in Huntsville has been reserved for lunch immediately following the ceremony for descendants to meet each other and share family histories.

About 1811 Randolph White moved first to Howard County, Mo then coming to Randolph County, Mo. about 1828. He died on September 7, 1831 in Randolph County.

Randolph and Margaret Kirkland White were parents of the following children:

William C. White married Elizabeth Cooley
Margaret C. White married Samuel Jackson
Elizabeth White married John Cooley
Thomas Kirkland White married Jemima Cooley
Jane White married James Cooley
Randolph White, Jr. married Elizabeth Riley
John White married Nancy Vestal
Harrison White married Bethany Gipson

Some of the children moved to Macon County, Mo after Randolph died. White Township in Macon County is named for Randolph White and many descendants are in these two counties and no doubt, in many more across the country.
