September 23, 1890, Mrs. Allen confessed her faith in her Savior and united with the Christian church at Friendship and has lived a consistent Christian life, ever demonstrating her supreme faith by her works. She was the last, save one, of the sturdy pioneers of East Valley township, who came there more than seventy years ago to carve homes in the wilderness, and to her arduous duties in keeping her home and rearing her large family, was added her readiness ever to respond to the cries of sickness or distress among her neighbors, going through storm as well as sunshine, to minister with willing and practiced hand, all who needed her help.

Her departure from a long and useful life, leaves all who mourn for her, a splendid, a godley heritage, and surely those who were fortunate.
