Judge Aden Combs Atterberry

Newspaper: Macon Republican dated Friday, January 5, 1894 Obituary of Judge Aden Combs Atterberry, who lived five miles north of Macon, aged 77 years, 2 months, 30 days.

A.C. Atterberry was born October 1st, 1816, in Harding Co., KY, came to Howard Co., 1819 and remained there until Oct. 1827, then moved to Monroe Co., where he lived until 1852, when he moved to Macon county, residing at his late residence the remainder of his life.

In Feb. 1841, he confessed his faith in Christ and united with the C.P.church in Monroe Co. in 1843, and has been one of the most active members of that church ever after, always contributing to its support as also to the support of other churches.

He was married Nov. 21, 1842, to Miss Sarah Ann Combs, who now survives him. To them were born four children, two sons and two daughters, the former died in early manhood. His eldest daughter, Mrs. Mary T., wife of the Rev. Erl Edmonds, of Coffeyburg, MO., and Mrs. J.E. Roberts, of Macon.

Judge Atterberry was elected as one of the Judges of Macon Co. Court in 1863.
